Hello, and a warm welcome to ThinkFi.
My name is Hasmukh Patanvadiya, and I’m the person behind this blog. I’m writing to you from my home in the beautiful city of Vadodara, Gujarat, India.
If you’ve ever looked at the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and felt a mix of excitement and intimidation, then we have something in common. If you’ve read headlines about AI changing everything but felt unsure where to even begin, you’ve found the right place.
This blog is built on a very simple, honest premise: I am not an AI expert. I am an AI explorer. And I’m inviting you to join me on this journey of discovery.
From Curiosity to Creation: The Story Behind ThinkFi
For years, I’ve been fascinated by the intersection of technology, finance, and business. I would read about startups disrupting entire industries and complex financial instruments powered by algorithms. The pace of change was, and still is, staggering. But recently, one topic started to dominate every conversation: Artificial Intelligence.
It seemed like AI was the new electricity—a fundamental force poised to reshape our world. But as I tried to learn more, I kept hitting a wall. The information I found was often polarized:
- For the Experts: Highly technical research papers and tutorials that assumed a Ph.D. in computer science.
- For the Masses: Vague, sensationalist articles that promised AI would either save humanity or create a robot apocalypse, with very little practical information in between.
I felt stuck. I wanted to understand how these tools actually worked. How could a small business owner in Vadodara use AI? How does AI change the way we should think about personal finance or investing? How can a regular person, not a data scientist, start using tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, or others to be more creative and productive?
I realized that if I was asking these questions, thousands of others probably were, too.
That’s when I decided to stop being a passive consumer of information and become an active learner. I launched ThinkFi.blog with a clear mission: to document my journey of learning AI from the ground up and share everything—the successes, the failures, the ‘aha!’ moments, and the ‘what was I thinking?’ moments—in a clear and honest way.
This blog is my public notebook.
My Philosophy: Learning in Public
This isn’t a place where a guru preaches from a mountaintop. This is a base camp where fellow explorers gather. My entire approach is built on a few core beliefs:
- Honesty is the Best Policy: I will always be upfront about my level of expertise. I am a learner, just like you. I will share what I’m studying, the resources I find helpful, and the experiments I run. My goal isn’t to be the ultimate authority, but to be a trusted guide who is just one step ahead on the path. This is a journey of shared experience.
- Clarity from a Beginner’s Mind: The best people to explain a complex topic are often those who have just learned it themselves. They still remember the confusion and the questions they had. I promise to break down complex AI concepts and financial topics into simple, digestible pieces, without the confusing jargon.
- Practical Application Over Abstract Theory: It’s interesting to know how a neural network functions, but it’s more useful to know how to use an AI tool to write a better business email, analyze a market trend, or create a personal budget. My focus will always be on the practical, real-world applications of these technologies.
- A View from India: While technology is global, our perspectives are local. I am proud to be learning and writing from Vadodara. I aim to explore how these global trends in AI and finance can be applied right here at home, for Indian students, professionals, and small business owners.
What Can You Expect to Find Here?
ThinkFi is a blend of my evolving interests, all centered around the theme of building a smarter future. The content is organized around a few key pillars:
